Acts 9: 31
“Then the church throughout Judea, Galilee and Samaria enjoyed a time of peace. It was strengthened; and encouraged by the Holy Spirit, it grew in numbers, living in the fear of the Lord.”
Church history fascinates me. Watching how the early church so dramatically grew during its first years is proof to me the Gospel had a supernatural power driving it forward. There just was no way the original 11 disciples could have evangelized the known world then unless something of a supernatural nature took possession of their lives.
While the gospel all by itself has the power to save and touch men’s lives it is the supernatural working of the Holy Spirit that really turns peoples heads around. The Holy Spirit being let loose among the body of Christ is the nucleus and the engine that has propelled the gospel of Jesus Christ to become paramount in our lives all through the ages and across the expanse of time.
Sit back, let go and read through the pages of history how Christ’s gospel grew and grew to where in our time it is being broadcast via satellite to every distant and dark corner of our world. These are indeed the last days and God has speeded up the barometer of mans progress allowing him to accomplish in a hundred years what should have taken a minimum of a 1,000.
This is a supernatural testimony of God almighty. Just look how far He is driving technology forward to entire new vistas. Our rate of technological growth is not normal fraid to say. We’ll have to give that glory to God. What does Gods prophetic word say but in the last days knowledge would be increased and men would travel as he had never traveled before.
Daniel 12: 4
“But you, Daniel, close up and seal the words of the scroll until the time of the end. Many will go here and there to increase knowledge.”
Now let’s continue and shift to another subject. Does the almighty God show favoritism?
Acts 10:34
“Then Peter began to speak: “I now realize how true it is that God does not show favoritism 35: but accepts men from every nation who fear him and do what is right.”
I like that as a principal and a concept. There are no burdens God places on our shoulders that He will not give us the ability to endure. If God exercised favoritism some of us would potentially carry loads that were beyond our capability.
Acts 13: 52
And the disciples were filled with joy and with the Holy Spirit.
I like the above passage. Remember when I spoke at the beginning about the power of the Holy Spirit? One of the blessing of the Holy Spirit is a supernatural peace and joy. And a peace that passes understanding.
